Tip 5: Be selective with notifications

Studies show that frequent notifications are associated with lower levels of productivity, social connectedness and psychological well-being. It can be distracting and tempting to have your phone light up when you’re doing something else, and getting back to the task requires more effort after a distraction. Mute notifications on apps that don’t require immediate attention. Some WhatsApp groups can be muted as well. Choose how many times it is wise to log in to your work mail, Instagram, a game etc. according to the purpose that it is serving you.
