A marriage in the Indian cultural system is not just a union between two people. It is in fact, two families that come together. The joy that comes along with it is sometimes overshadowed by certain challenges. And one of the biggest challenges faced by the man is the constant need to strike a balance between his mother and wife. When conflicts happen between the two, each expects his support. The man thus finds himself in a position where if he shows empathy towards his wife, his mother will be unhappy and if he is more understanding towards his mother, his wife is going to be upset.
