Power struggle

What is actually happening in the household is a power struggle. The structure and dynamic of the family has suddenly changed with the new member, the wife, entering the fray. What might have previously worked as a smooth running structure, now must readjust to accommodate the new member and it could take a while and some effort before it starts running smoothly again. Both the mother and the wife can go through emotional struggles as they adjust to the new dynamics.
