Love: not mutually exclusive

He needs to contemplate on how he can continue to show his love for his mother, while establishing the fact that his marital relationship is his priority. Loving one’s wife, supporting her and standing up for her in no way means that he loves and respects his mother any less. It simply is a way of showing his mother that she has raised a son who is able to make the wisest decisions in the most mature way. The mother might not understand that immediately, but that is something that she would eventually come to terms with.
