Progress through the stages of grief
Allow yourself to slowly pass through the five stages of grief, namely:
Denial: “I can’t believe it. This can’t be happening to me.”
Anger: “Why is this happening to me? Who is to blame?”
Bargaining: “Make this not happen, and in return I will do anything”
Depression: “I’m too sad to do anything.”
Acceptance: “I’m at peace with what happened; I can go on…”
Again, there is no set time to get through each stage. Each person does so at their own pace and sometimes one can go back and forth before coming to acceptance.
