Feedback: An Opportunity to Learn!
Listen. Don't be Defensive.
When a feedback is negative, we view it as an attack. When we are attacked, instinctively we tend to defend ourselves. We tend to say, “That’s not true” or “I did not do that” and so on. While we do not need to necessarily agree with the feedback, we must listen and give the person giving the feedback the chance to finish. Therefore, being able to listen and acknowledging what you have heard is something we need to get used to doing.
