Acknowledge and Mirror back
Once you have effectively listened to the feedback, you need to convey that you have heard it. Do remember that you need not necessarily agree, but you can still acknowledge it and make the person feel heard. You could achieve this by saying something like, “I hear you say that I need to improve…..” or even, “I understand that I should try harder in this field” and so on. What you are doing is merely mirroring back the feedback you received and in the process giving the person the feeling that they have been heard.
