Social Etiquette
We need to learn the social etiquette of any culture we interact with. For example in most places in the West, personal space is very important. This means that they do not appreciate if we stand too close to them or huddle close by as we do in our country. In our culture it is often acceptable to put your arm around your close friend of the same gender while walking around but in most western countries, this is not acceptable behaviour. We must understand the cultural norms and abide by them. A good way to learn is to observe and follow – for example, if you find people waiting in queue, or standing on one side of the elevator, try to do the same.
